Former managers of Chelsea and Manchester United, Jose Mourinho, has been named as one of the three candidates being considered to take over as head coach of Nottingham Forest.

This was revealed by talkSPORT transfer insider Alex Crook in a post shared on X.

Nottingham Forest parted ways with Santos late last night, following a disappointing run of form.

The Premier League club made the decision less than two weeks after a 3-0 loss at home to West Ham United.

According to Crook, the club is weighing its options between Mourinho, who was recently dismissed from his role at Fenerbahçe, former Tottenham Hotspur coach Ange Postecoglou, and Fulham’s current manager Marco Silva.

“Ange Postecoglou one of the early front runners to replace Nuno at #NFFC,” wrote on X.

“Marco Silva also admired by the hierarchy there and Jose Mourinho another option, although I understand Edu and Marinakis want a more progressive playing style, which was one of the issues with Nuno.”
