Wolverhampton Wanderers striker, Tolu Arokodare, is expected to lead Nigeria’s frontline in tonight’s decisive 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against South Africa.
The Super Eagles will be without their key forward, Victor Osimhen, who is sidelined due to injury.
Osimhen picked up the injury during Nigeria’s matchday seven victory over Rwanda last Saturday and has since returned to Galatasaray to begin treatment.
Arokodare netted the decisive goal in that match against the Amavubi and delivered a standout performance that earned him the Player of the Match award.
With Osimhen unavailable, head coach Eric Chelle is likely to place his confidence in Arokodare to lead the team’s attack.
The 24-year-old forward has scored two goals in five appearances for the national team.
