The Nigeria Football Federation has applauded Super Eagles goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie for her outstanding achievement at the 2025 Ballon d’Or awards.
Nnadozie secured fourth place in the women’s Goalkeeper of the Year category on Monday evening.
The award was claimed by Chelsea and England’s goalkeeper, Hannah Hampton.
Notably, Nnadozie made history as the first Nigerian ever nominated for this prestigious accolade.
In response, the NFF, through a statement by its General Secretary Dr Mohammed Sanusi on Tuesday, expressed optimism that the Brighton goalkeeper will soon claim the award.
“Congratulations to @NGSuper_Falcons safe hands Chiamaka Nnadozie on her fourth-place finish at this year’s Ballon d’Or Ceremony,” NFF’s statement partly read.
“We heartily congratulate Chiamaka Nnadozie on her fourth-place finish in the race.
“It is a commendable feat given the calibre of goalkeepers she was up against. We believe in her capacity to win this trophy very soon.”
Meanwhile, Super Falcons head coach, Justine Madugu, finished fourth in the Coach of the Year category, which was won by Three Lionesses of England head coach Sarina
