Former Manchester United forward, Wayne Rooney, has cautioned embattled manager Ruben Amorim that his days at Old Trafford may be numbered.
Rooney made the remarks in response to United’s 3-0 loss against Manchester City in Sunday’s Premier League clash.
The defeat leaves Amorim with just eight victories from the 31 league matches he has overseen so far.
While the club maintains that Amorim’s role remains secure, the upcoming fixtures against Chelsea, Brentford, and Sunderland could prove pivotal for his future.
“I don’t think anyone can understand and comprehend what’s going on,” Rooney said.
“Frankly, it’s not good enough. I want to be as supportive and positive as I can be on the manager and the players.
“But it’s very difficult to sit here and say we’re seeing progression and at least we’re seeing things that will get results in the near future. We’re seeing none of that and it’s very difficult.”
