Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola will be missing three important players for Sunday’s Premier League clash against rivals Manchester United.
During his pre-match press conference on Friday, Guardiola confirmed that Omar Marmoush, Ryan Aït-Nouri, and Rayan Cherki will be unavailable for the highly anticipated derby.
The City boss also revealed uncertainty surrounding John Stones’ fitness, casting doubt on the defender’s chances of featuring in the game at the Etihad Stadium against Rúben Amorim’s side.
Speaking to the media, Guardiola said (via Manchester Evening News): “Omar [Marmoush] came from Egypt injured. Rayan Ait Nouri and Rayan Cherki are out.
“John Stones is a doubt but not a ‘big issue’. The rest are okay, we have to wait for tests (on Marmoush) but a few weeks I think. Before the international break he will be ready.
“We came back yesterday, the players are good. I know how important it is for our fans and it is a really important game. I trust the players a lot.”
Kick-off for Man City vs Man United is 4:30 pm, Nigerian time.
