Cristiano Ronaldo, the star forward for Al-Nassr, has been named the world’s highest-paid athlete for 2024.
According to The Sun, Ronaldo topped the earnings chart, surpassing long-time rival Lionel Messi, who came in third.
The 40-year-old football icon reportedly earned £192.4 million over the year — nearly double Messi’s £99.9 million.
Spanish golfer Jon Rahm claimed second place with £161.32 million in total earnings.
The top 10 list also features several football and basketball stars: Kylian Mbappe sits in sixth place with £81.4 million, Neymar follows in seventh with £79.92 million, and Karim Benzema is eighth at £78.44 million.
From the NBA, LeBron James ranks fourth with £94.87 million, while Steph Curry takes the ninth spot with £75.38 million.
This marks the second year in a row that Ronaldo has led the list of highest-earning athletes, having also topped Forbes’ rankings in 2023.
The figures account not only for salaries and prize money but also for off-field earnings such as endorsements and brand partnerships.
