Super Eagles forward Victor Boniface has praised teammate Tolu Arokodare for netting the decisive goal in Nigeria’s 1-0 win over Rwanda in Saturday’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier.

Arokodare, who was introduced as a substitute, made an immediate impact by scoring the only goal of the match at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium.

The Wolves striker entered the game in the second half, replacing Frank Onyeka.

With the win, Nigeria now sits third in Group C of the qualifiers, trailing behind Benin Republic and South Africa.

Boniface, who is currently on loan at Werder Bremen from Bayer Leverkusen, celebrated the moment on Instagram, posting: “Na so my guy Tolu Arokorade.”

Following Victor Osimhen’s ankle injury, Arokodare could be in line for a starting spot when Nigeria faces South Africa in their next qualifier.
