Erik ten Hag has been relieved of his duties as Bayer Leverkusen’s manager.

The decision to dismiss the Dutch coach came after just two league games into the season.

Ten Hag’s exit followed a dramatic setback against Werder Bremen, where Leverkusen squandered a 3-1 advantage to settle for a 3-3 draw despite Bremen being reduced to ten men.

Renowned football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano announced on X on Monday: “Erik ten Hag has just been SACKED by Bayer Leverkusen. Decision made by the club’s hierarchy this morning and manager informed right now.”

Previously, Ten Hag was dismissed by Manchester United in November before taking over at Leverkusen this summer.
