Manchester City have reportedly submitted a British-record transfer offer for Nottingham Forest midfielder Elliot Anderson, but the bid has been turned down as talks continue between both clubs.
The proposed deal is said to be in the region of £120–£122 million, including performance-based add-ons, which would have set a new record for the most expensive British player ever. However, Nottingham Forest are believed to value Anderson higher, with expectations closer to £125–£130 million before they would consider selling.
Anderson has emerged as one of the most highly rated young midfielders in England and is expected to play a key role in the national team setup ahead of the 2026 World Cup. His performances have attracted strong interest from top clubs, with Manchester City leading the pursuit as they look to reinforce their midfield options for the future.
At this stage, no agreement has been reached, and negotiations are still ongoing, with the possibility of further improved bids during the transfer window.
