Nigeria National League (NNL) club, Calabar Rovers, have named Christian Okonkwo as their new head coach.
Okonkwo takes over from Caleb Esu, who recently accepted a role as assistant coach with Nigeria’s U-20 national team.
Before his latest appointment, Okonkwo served as the assistant coach at Solution FC, based in Awka.
Confirming the development, Okonkwo told Complete Sports, “I’m no longer with Solution FC. I’ve taken up the position of Head Coach at Calabar Rovers.”
He will be joined on the technical bench by Obinna Achebe, who was recently appointed as the team’s assistant coach.
The upcoming NNL season is set to kick off on Saturday, November 8.
