Former Liverpool and Real Madrid head coach Rafa Benitez has stated that Mohamed Salah offers more all-around qualities as a footballer compared to Cristiano Ronaldo.
However, Benitez acknowledged that Ronaldo remains the more clinical of the two in front of goal.
Salah, who has played for clubs including Roma, Chelsea, and Liverpool, has tallied 323 goals and provided 162 assists in 657 club appearances across all competitions.
In contrast, Cristiano Ronaldo, widely regarded as one of the greatest to ever play the game, boasts an unmatched club record with 796 goals and 257 assists in 1,057 matches.
Speaking during a segment on the YouTube channel Shoot for Love, Benitez said (via Liverpool’s website): “You talk about attackers, Salah has been consistent for so many years.
“Ronaldo is the greatest maybe finisher, but Salah is more complete.
“At the end I know where this will finish [Ronaldo vs Messi], so I will go here [with Salah].”
