South Africa head coach Hugo Broos has commented on the absence of Victor Osimhen ahead of Tuesday’s World Cup qualifying match against Nigeria.
Osimhen picked up an injury during Nigeria’s recent home fixture against Rwanda.
The 26-year-old did not join the Super Eagles squad on their trip to Bloemfontein on Sunday.
While speaking to the press on Monday, Broos noted that the Nigerian side still has enough attacking depth to fill the gap left by the Galatasaray forward.
“We also have injuries and I think Osimhen is a very good striker. But I think the coach has lots of options to replace him,” stated the Belgian tactician.
The match, set to take place at Toyota Stadium in Bloemfontein, will begin at 5 p.m. Nigerian time.
