Aston Villa’s newest signing, Jadon Sancho, has revealed that manager Unai Emery and Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford played key roles in his decision to join the club this summer.
Speaking in his first interview with Villa TV following his move, the former Manchester United winger shared how both men influenced his choice.
Sancho completed a season-long loan move to Aston Villa from Manchester United on transfer deadline day.
“When I spoke to Unai Emery, he definitely persuaded me, I cannot wait to work under him,” Sancho said.
“I spoke to Marcus Rashford while he was here [at Aston Villa] last season.
“He said so many lovely things about Aston Villa, like how it is a family and you feel that friendly environment with great players and staff.”
