Samuel Chukwueze has emphasized the importance of the Super Eagles securing victories in their upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying matches against Rwanda and South Africa.

Currently, Eric Chelle’s squad sits in fourth place in Group C, having collected seven points from six matches.

South Africa’s Bafana Bafana lead the group with 13 points from the same number of fixtures.

Chukwueze believes that winning both games is essential to keeping Nigeria’s hopes of reaching the World Cup alive.

“For now I am just focusing on the game. We need the two games, Rwanda and South Africa. So, I think we have to win the two games to secure our World Cup ticket,” the winger told Fulham TV after completing his loan move from AC Milan.

He is expected to arrive in camp today (Tuesday) ahead of the critical qualifiers.

Nigeria will host Rwanda on Saturday in a matchday seven encounter at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo.

Three days later, the team will travel to Bloemfontein to face South Africa in another crucial fixture.
