Chippa United goalkeeper, Stanley Nwabali, has resumed training after picking up an injury during Tuesday’s league match against Richards Bay.

Nwabali had to be carried off the field in the 35th minute, raising concerns about his readiness for Nigeria’s upcoming vital 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and South Africa.

The 29-year-old took part in a light training session at the club’s facility on Friday evening.

He is anticipated to start in goal when Chippa United faces Orlando Pirates in a South African Premier League match at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium on Sunday.

On Friday, Nwabali was included in Nigeria’s final 23-player squad for the upcoming games against the Amavubi and Bafana Bafana.

He is expected to link up with his national teammates in Uyo after fulfilling his club duties.
