RB Leipzig midfielder Xavi Simons is on the verge of completing a move to Tottenham Hotspur, with a medical scheduled soon.

As reported by Fabrizio Romano, the deal follows an agreement between Tottenham and Leipzig on a transfer fee worth €60 million for the Dutch international.

This development places Spurs ahead of Chelsea, who were also in the race to sign the talented playmaker.

Both London-based Premier League sides had expressed strong interest in securing Simons’ services during the current transfer window.

In a separate update, Chelsea’s Christopher Nkunku has landed in Italy as he prepares for a transfer to AC Milan.

Reports from Sky Italy indicate that Nkunku is set to undergo a medical today with the Serie A side.

Chelsea and Milan have reached a deal that could rise beyond £36 million for the French forward’s move to the San Siro this summer.
