Former Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney has issued a stern warning to current manager Ruben Amorim, stating there are no longer any excuses for failing to secure wins this season.

United’s 1-1 draw against Fulham on Sunday marked the club’s continued wait for their first Premier League victory this campaign.

The Red Devils have invested more than £200 million in new players during the summer transfer window, strengthening their attacking options with signings like Benjamin Sesko, Matheus Cunha, and Bryan Mbeumo.

The arrival of these forwards has raised hopes at Old Trafford, especially after the team finished 15th in the league last season.

Following a recent home loss to Arsenal and the draw at Craven Cottage, Rooney has now sounded a clear caution to Amorim about the need to turn results around.

“There’s no excuses now for the manager this season. He’s got to start getting results and getting them quickly,” Rooney said on his BBC podcast.

“Once you start getting into October or November, if results don’t change drastically that’s when the pressure comes.”
